Smart Start Early Learning and Development Centre is privately owned and managed . The centre opened in 2010 and is known as a high quality centre in the Alphington /Fairfield community.The centre employs professional, suitably qualified and experienced staff that deliver the high quality program to children and families. We have 7 rooms that cater for babies’ right through to kindergarten.

Smart Start Children

At Smart Start Early Learning and Development Centre we welcome children from Birth to six years our educational programs are based on children’s individual needs and development, providing a nurturing environment for children to grow, explore their own ideas, interests and learn. Our professional team of educators are work in partnership with children and families to support their individual learning and development recognising that children progress at their own pace and have a unique individual way of exploring the world and learning. At Smart Start Early Learning and Development Centre we support children to be capable and confident learners through a strong sense of being, becoming and belonging. Our educators have high expectations for children’s learning which is communicated through the following outcomes from the Early Years Learning Framework for Australia

Smart Start Families

At Smart Start we recognize and value families as the children’s first and most influential teachers. The centre nurtures the critical relationships and partnerships formed between educators and families recognising that they are enhancing and supporting children’s learning and development, providing children with the best possible start to life. We provide a welcoming environment where each family’s needs, beliefs and values are respected and recognised and educators work with the families to reflect this in the everyday program. The expertise of families is recognised and they are invited to share in decision making about their child’s learning and wellbeing.

Smart Start Philosophy

While every child has the ability to learn and develop, our Early Childhood Educators understand that each child has a unique approach to learning. We are committed to high expectations for each child’s learning and development and believe every child has the right to experience a sense of success and achievement. Our teaching philosophy involves developing and maintaining a partnership with Children, Families, Community, Early Educators and the Environment as equal and respected contributors to a child’s journey in learning and development.
